I was raised in an Italian family and practically lived in my grandfather’s kitchen. I can still remember the amazing aroma of his pasta sauce. These memories and my love of that sauce inspired me to recreate my grandfather’s recipe so that I can share it with you. This sauce is far from typical. Not only are the flavors memorable, but the ingredients are healthy, which is extremely important to me as a cardiologist and anti-aging doctor. At the heart of this beautiful bright-red sauce are the best, vibrant, organic tomatoes from Italy. From there, I crafted a rich marinara with extra virgin olive oil, sweetened only with fresh organic carrots (no added sugar), and seasoned with the best organic spices. My sauce also contains less salt than many respected brands. My favorite way to enjoy this vibrant sauce is with delicious lentil (or other high-protein) pasta and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
